The result of further delving into the relationship, in any, between pomegranates the fruit and Grenada the place.
Google turns up a lot of stuff on the search term 'pomegranate Grenada', of which a sample of three is given below.
It seems that the fruit is the emblem of the city, to be found all over the place, in one form or another. Even down to the drain covers, otherwise very like one of those to be found in our fine new concrete drive.
It seems that the name 'Grenada' is a slight corruption of the Arab name for the place, a name which meant something quite different in Arabic, nothing to do with pomegranates at all. But after the Castilians conquered it from the Arabs, they made the place into a celebration of the pomegranate, the Spanish for which is indeed 'grenada'.
Even going so far as to include a pomegranate at the bottom of the heraldic bit in the middle of the flag of Spain itself.
So there is a link, but not particularly because Grenada is the epicentre of pomegranate culture. More an accident of language.
