Snake oil, Guardian style: 'come to my lecture and change your life in one easy lesson'. The sort of thing that I associate with the US, a place I believe to be awash with self-help books and improving courses. Anything to get ahead!
This particular snake oil is to be had for a very modest £49 'plus £2.83 booking fee. Partners/Patrons save £12.63 (20% off and no fees). All sales final - tickets are not refundable'. I wondered what the format was: lecture theatre with hundreds of you? Meeting room with tens of you? Break-out groups? Hugging? For the money, probably no alcohol.
The BH theory is that you go along to this one and end up signing on for a course of the stuff. The courses being where the real money is.
I had never heard of this particular Fiona, but Bing knows all about her, with reference 3 being the first hit. And a bit lower down I read 'Hi there, I’m Fiona. I love supporting people to unleash their own, others’ and their organisation’s potential, and engaging them in ways we can live richer, more fulfilled lives'. And you too can have a slice of it for a mere 49 smackers...
PS: written English not her strong point, if the quote above is anything to go by. But then, its the spoken sort we are going to be buying, so perhaps that does not matter.
