Heverin

I often see Heverin trucks rather like this one in and around the Longmead Road and, possibly because the word is like Heparin, I associate to medicines and my belief that there is a factory on the Longmead Estate which makes medicine bottles. A belief I picked up from someone in TB, now dead, who used to work there. Ergo, the trucks are from the bottle factory.

So, parking up for a break on leaving the M3 for the A303, I was pleased to come across this truck.

Then click to enlarge to see the Starbucks sign right, a company which seems to have pushed most of the way down the A303 in the last few years. The tea came with real cups, albeit rather heavy cups, and a tea pot, which was an improvement on the paper cups you usually get in these coffee places. Sadly, the tea itself, described at Teavana English Breakfast, was not to our taste at all. According to Bing: 'Teavana Tea is a popular brand of tea recently acquired by the Starbucks Corporation' - but not so popular that we had ever heard of it. We passed on cake, as while there was a reasonable choice, they all looked a bit heavy on either sugar, fat or both.

At about the same time we were passed by a rather sporty looking car, painted a deep yellow, with 'GT50' on the side and a white horse on the back. Bing rapidly reveals that this was probably the latest Ford Mustang Fastback - and that this yellow is one of Ford's colours for this year.

But checking up on Heverin, I find that they are nothing to do with the Longmead Estate, rather a waste haulage firm based in St. Albans. Walking floor trailers seems to be their thing, which perhaps means that you just dump the stuff in the back and it is rolled up the front on the walking floor. Something else to check up one day when I am bored. Presumably used by one of the outfits that does work out of the Longmead Estate.

PS: the egret noticed down Longmead Road a week or so ago was still there this morning.
