The occasional series of pianos continues with this Blüthner from Leipxig which turned up at the church of Saints Mary & Michael at Trumpington, to which I shall return in due course. Presumably reasonably old, given the antique spelling of the town of origin. Which was probably both the town in which it was made and the town from which it was sold wholesale. From whence it presumably passed through the hands of one or more dealers in this country, possibly one or more owners, before winding up in this church.
Blüthner clearly still alive and well in Germany, where Steinway maybe do not have the near monopoly on concert pianos that they have here. Not sure what the difference between reference 2 and reference 3 is. Maybe the first is for German customers, the second for rest of the world.
