Around 0800, I thought I saw a lone thrush like bird with yellow and dark stripes on its chest, on the top of the next door yew tree - perhaps large bush would give a better idea - behind our garage, as seen from the study window. A yew tree with some berries.
A bit of checking suggests redwing, although the blog record would suggest that it is a little early for them. On the other hand, we had the first frost for a little while last night, with the extension roof bright white first thing.
Maybe it will come back later in the day and offer a clearer sighting.
PS: it did come back to the yew tree later, around 1000. Confirmed redwing. In company with a dark brown bird of about the same size, but without any stripes. Maybe a small, lady blackbird.
