Starlings

17:30: a small flock of starlings - say a dozen of them - landed on our back lawn a few minutes ago. Very busy pecking away at the lawn - presumably insects and such like under the grass - for a few minutes, then off again. Don't recall ever seeing such a thing before, although I do see and hear flocks of starlings in the tops of trees from time to time, most often down Longmead Road.
