Jigsaw 11, Series 3, Notice D

Further investigation revealed that our jigsaw was one of a pair. When the other one was completed, it turned out that it had excess pieces (above) which exactly matched our deficit (below).

Which would suggest that the two jigsaws were stamped out, but then dropped and slightly mixed up during the packing process. With the packer not taking the trouble to actually do the jigsaws to make sure the packing was right. Or even to weigh the two jigsaws to be sure that they were right - and then doing them if they weren't. Or maybe it would be cheaper simply to start over if they weren't.

But a good outcome. We now have a complete jigsaw.

With some of the helpful brown stripes visible in this snap - in this case the gaps between varnished floor boards.

PS: I have noticed before the way that Microsoft have changed the way that copy and paste of web addresses works, for example at reference 2. I am now finding that some web page designers are using this feature to give chunks of clickable text rather than an address, although reference 3a is perhaps a mistake rather than a feature. Either way, I think I prefer the old way of doing things; so reference 1b rather than reference 1a, even though the old way now requires some extra key strokes. Time will no doubt tell.
