For the avoidance of doubt

Given my various difficulties with identifying Wellingtonia in non-standard, adult configurations, I thought it best to capture this labelled tree, for the record. Just in case. A 'cedrus libani (glauca)'.

Snapped from the southern end of Court Rec, quite near the new flats from Zestan, looking north. I imagine that it was planted late last year. Good to see that the council tree people are alive and well.

According to reference 1, also known as the Blue Cedar. So while a similar colour, not a close relative of the Christmas tree noticed at reference 2, which is a spruce rather than a cedar. Both pine trees, but different part of the taxonomic tree altogether. As it were.

Reference 4: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinophyta. Conifers again. Five extant families. One of which is the pines and another the cypresses, with the Wellingtonias being a sort of cypress.
