We get something right

Mishearing a bit of news this morning, I thought it a bit gross that we were raising hundreds of thousands of minks for make fur coats for rich people. I am no veggie, but using small animals to make clothes in this day and age seems very wrong. And polluting, with intensive animal farms producing plenty of unpleasant emissions and worse.

So I was pleased to find this evening that while such things might still go on in the European Union, once known as the Common Market, they have not gone on here since 2000 or so. Some things we manage to get right.

Reference 1: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2000/33/contents. The source of the snap. Full of information - except anything to tell the beginner that what you are looking at has indeed been enacted and is in force. Which I believe to be the case.
