Despite more rain for Surrey warnings late yesterday, the night turned out to be relatively benign.
Morning light revealed a damp but scarcely flooded patio and just a few minutes shovelling served. Nevertheless, the snap shows the broken damp course to the extension - just to the right of the blue and white striped pot - the damp course being one brown brick down - and the small amount of clearance between water and the bottom of the sliding doors.
The drain into the soakaway is still a centimetre or so under water, but we think it must be soaking up some water, albeit rather slowly.
Maybe the panic is over. For now.
